In the presence of the Deputy Governor of Hadramawt for the Valley and Desert Districts,Al-Tamimi, and the Director General of Tarim District, Abdulkarim Babtat, the International Scientific Conference entitled “Emerging Issues in Deferred Payment Sales” concluded in Tarim. The two-day conference, organized by Al-Ahqaf University, represented by its Faculty of Sharia and Law, featured a distinguished group of scholars and researchers from within Yemen and abroad.
In this context, the Director General of Tarim District, Abdulkarim Yislam Babtat, emphasized the local authority's commitment to supporting and hosting such scientific events, noting their importance in enhancing Tarim's academic role and solidifying its historical position as a center of Islamic scholarship in the fields of Sharia and law.
At the closing ceremony, the Vice President of the University, Professor Sadiq Omar Maknoun, conveyed the greetings of the university's leadership, affirming that organizing this conference is part of the university's efforts to contribute to addressing contemporary jurisprudential issues and bridging the gap between theoretical aspects and practical applications to serve the realities of financial transactions. He noted that the conference's outcomes represent a significant scholarly contribution, helping to establish a sound scientific methodology for Islamic financial transactions that addresses contemporary needs. He expressed his appreciation for the official support and sponsorship the conference received, as well as the efforts of the organizing committees and researchers.
The event included a review of the conference's recommendations, presented by Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Saqqaf. These recommendations emphasized the importance of activating the role of Sharia boards in financial institutions, strengthening governance and Sharia oversight, and focusing on the study of emerging contracts to safeguard rights and regulate transactions.
Professor Saeed Bouhraoua, representing the international partner, expressed his appreciation for the high level of organization and scholarly content, praising the depth of the discussions and affirming their commitment to strengthening the academic partnership with the university in the future.
In his keynote address, Habib Allama Omar bin Mohammed bin Hafeez stressed the importance of adhering to Sharia principles in financial transactions, warning against the dangers of usury and emphasizing the necessity of ensuring justice and proper documentation in all transactions. The conference concluded amid widespread praise for the level of organization and scientific content, with emphasis on the importance of continuing such conferences that contribute to the development of scientific research and serve the issues of society.
