The Republic of Yemen participated in the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States' celebration of its 50th anniversary, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Yemeni delegation was headed by the Minister of Education, Mr. Tariq Salem Al-Akbari, and the event was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, and in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Badawi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and Their Excellencies the Ministers of Education of the member states of the Bureau.
The celebration, held under the slogan "Fifty Years of Leadership and Excellence in Joint Educational Work," affirmed a Gulf educational journey that began in 1975. During this time, the Bureau formed the initial foundation for joint Gulf educational work and served as a platform for cooperation, coordination, and integration among the Gulf states, supporting educational development, strengthening educational decision-making, and transferring distinguished educational expertise and practices.
The ceremony included an exhibition and a high-level dialogue session on the future of education in the Gulf States: Renewed roles for regional and international organizations, during which the Minister of Education, Professor Tariq Al-Akbari, reviewed the national vision of the Ministry of Education, and the role of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Arab Gulf States in supporting the educational process in our country, through quality programs and events that included the student, the teacher and the educational staff alike.
