The Governor of Hadramawt and Chairman of the Governorate's Security Committee, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madhi, laid the foundation stone today for the construction of a women's police station in the Fuwa Al-Masakin area of Mukalla. This is a significant step towards strengthening specialized security infrastructure in Hadramawt Governorate.
The new station aims to provide a specialized and suitable work environment for female security personnel. The project includes two temporary detention rooms that respect the privacy of detainees, a training hall to enhance the skills of female police officers, and fully equipped administrative offices for case management.
This project is funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Construction is expected to be completed within five months.
Governor bin Madhi emphasized that building a dedicated women's police station in Mukalla is a pressing security and social necessity, reflecting the local authority's strong commitment to empowering women in the security sector. The governor emphasized that this center will contribute to activating the role of female police officers in addressing violations and enhancing public security. It will also provide a supportive environment for delivering security and legal services to women, families, and children, particularly in cases of family and juvenile protection.
Furthermore, it will ensure that sensitive cases concerning women and children are handled with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism, guaranteeing the preservation of their dignity and rights. The governor, accompanied by the Director General of Security and Police for the Hadramawt Coast, Brigadier General Mutie Al-Manhali, and the Deputy Director General of Security and Police for the Hadramawt Coast and Director of Security for Mukalla, Colonel Salah Al-Mashjari, witnessed a parade of female police officers.
