Yemen, India discuss strengthening bilateral relations

Yemen's ambassador to India Khadija Ghanem met on Friday in the capital Delhi with Secretary of Indian Foreign Ministry for the Gulf and Yemen Affairs, Ambassador Mardol Kumar.
They discussed the arrangements for the visit of the Indian Commercial and Industrial Chamber’s delegation and an Indian medical delegation to Yemen next week to discuss investment opportunities in the field of energy, oil and gas, agriculture, minerals and infrastructure.
The meeting also discussed the potential contribution of the EXIM Bank of India to provide two soft loans for establishing a power plant to the Aden refinery and the construction of housing units for employees of the Defense Ministry, as well as the cooperation in the field of loans to small and medium industries.
Furthermore, they discussed the promotion of the Indian medical aid to Yemen, building of a vocational and technical institute, supporting the Artificial Limb Center in Yemen, and the participation in the coming meeting of the Friends of Yemen Group, especially after the success of the National Dialogue Conference.
The ambassador Ghanem praised the bilateral relations between the two countries, which have seen a significant development in the various fields. She also touched upon the situation of the Yemeni citizens, who are barred from leaving India on multiple charges.
For his part, the Indian diplomat commended the distinct relations between the two friendly peoples , which would witness during the next period arrangements for the President’s visit to India.
