The Governor of Hadhramaut, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, met today in Mukalla with the Director of the Mukalla Autism Center, Alawiya Awad Masjidi, to discuss final arrangements for the inauguration of the center's new headquarters for the 2025/2026 academic year. This follows the local authority's decision to integrate it into the Ministry of Education's Hadhramaut Coast Office.
During the meeting, the center's director emphasized the importance of the center's integration into the Education Office, which will enhance its role in providing specialized educational services to children with autism and Down syndrome.
She reviewed the new curriculum and features of the upcoming academic year, which aims to rehabilitate this segment and integrate them into society. She noted that approximately 300 male and female students have been registered for the new year, and that training courses will be organized for the center's staff in sociology and dealing with this segment to rehabilitate and integrate them into society.
The governor praised the efforts of those in charge of the center, emphasizing that the center's integration into the Ministry of Education office and the inauguration of classes in the center's new building in the Fuwa area of the Mukalla City Directorate represent a genuine commitment by the local authority to keeping pace with updates and new curricula, and to addressing diverse segments of society. The governor emphasized that the local authority has approved the teaching and administrative staff and equipment for the center to ensure the smooth running of the educational process and to provide a suitable environment for our sons and daughters with disabilities.
