His Excellency Dr. Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Friday, in Munich, Germany, with His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait, on the sidelines of the 62nd Munich Security Conference.
During the meeting, the Kuwaiti Prime Minister conveyed to His Excellency the President the greetings of his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, and his wishes for his continued health and happiness, and for stability, peace, and development for the Yemeni people.
In turn, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council asked His Highness Sheikh Ahmad al-Sabah to convey his greetings and those of the Council members to the Kuwaiti leadership, and his wishes for their continued health and well-being, and for the brotherly Kuwaiti people continued progress and prosperity.
The meeting also addressed the latest developments in the local and regional situations, in addition to exchanging views and coordinating positions on issues of common interest. The meeting also addressed aspects of bilateral cooperation, priorities for Kuwaiti economic and developmental support, humanitarian, service, and relief interventions, and the government's urgent needs in various sectors.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council, on behalf of himself, the Council members, and the government, reiterated his profound gratitude and appreciation to the State of Kuwait, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Crown Prince, and the Kuwaiti government and people, for their fraternal stances, support, and the facilities provided to the Yemeni government and people at various stages and under different circumstances.
His Excellency the President briefed the Kuwaiti Prime Minister on recent developments in the country, including the formation of the new government, in addition to the measures taken with the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to end the duality of power, unify security and military decision-making, consolidate the state's presence, and the impact of these measures on efforts to enhance security and stability, improve basic services, ensure the regular payment of salaries, and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people caused by the Houthi terrorist militias supported by the Iranian regime. For his part, His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah affirmed the State of Kuwait's commitment to supporting the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership in overcoming the current crisis and achieving their aspirations for security, stability, and peace.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Presidential Office, Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi; the Yemeni Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Luay Al-Aryani; and the Economic Advisor to the Presidential Council, Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi.
On the Kuwaiti side, the meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; the Acting Head of the Prime Minister's Office, Sheikh Khalid Mohammed Al-Khalid Al-Sabah; the Managing Director of the Kuwait Investment Authority, Sheikh Salem Abdulaziz Saud Al-Sabah; the Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Ambassador Sadiq Mohammed Marafi; and the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Federal Republic of Germany, Ambassador Reem Mohammed Al-Khalid.
