Yemen partakes in Indonesia disaster conference

Yemen is partaking in the 5th ASIAN MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE ON DISASTER RISK REDUCTION which was kicked off on Tuesday in the Indonesian city, Yogyakarta, lasts for four days, from Oct. 22-25, 2012 with the participation of 33 countries.
Upon his departure, undersecretary of Water and Environment Ministry, and head of the participated delegation in the conference, Mufeed Abdo al-Halimi made clear that Yemen would present in the conference a working paper reviewing the government's efforts in facing natural disasters, such as floods, droughts and earthquakes.
Al-Halimi also noted that the sheet paper would confirm on the importance of partnership in humanitarian work in order to find appropriate mechanisms for joint action between organizations and those working in field to reduce the risk of climate change as well as in disaster risk reduction.
