Dialogue committee adjourns meeting in protest at member attack

The technical preparatory committee for the comprehensive national dialogue adjourned on Tuesday its today's meeting in protest at attack on its member Yassin Saeed Numan.
In its meeting chaired by the committee's head Abdul-Karim al-Eriani, the committee discussed the consequences of the incident taken place on Monday, expressing in a statement issued after the meeting, its strong condemnation of the attack. Numan, who is also a secretary general of the Yemeni Socialist Party, was stopped in his car by an unknown checkpoint inside the capital. The soldiers dealt violently with the car's driver and the escorts, attempted to check the car doubtfully and opened fire into the air when the car escaped. After reported the incident, the interior ministry said that the checkpoint was not belong to it and it has disappeared, according to the statement. The committee demanded the concerned authorities to conduct a quick and transparent investigation into the incident and arrest the perpetrators.
