Minister of Industry and Trade Saad Al-Din bin Talib and his accompanying delegation returned to Sana'a Saturday, after participating in the negotiations of Yemen's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), held recently in Geneva.
Bin Talib explained to Saba that the delegation has had three tasks during this tour, which were the completion of negotiations with Ukraine, attending a meeting on Yemen's accession to the WTO, and attending a meeting of the General Assembly of the Organizatio. " The negotiations with Ukraine started seriously since we went to Beijing", said bin Talib, pointing that there were a number of offers have not been accepted by Ukraine the past months. The two work teams in Sana'a and Geneva have stepped up the efforts to mobilize as much as possible of support for the success of this task, bin Talib added. In this respect, he noted to the strong support from the Group of Arab , Aisa , Africa and the advanced countries, which represented pressure on Ukraine tha did not accept to be the only opposing country to Yemen's accession to the WTO. He explained that what is remaining before Yemen now is only to attend the next session to be held at the end of September, which will be the final session after which Yemen will have completed all the conditions of accession to the WTO. Bin Talib pointed out that his Ministry will soon explain everything related to the privileges and benefits that will accrue to Yemen as a result of its accession to the WTO.
