Arab regional meeting over illiteracy to be held in Sana'a

SANA'A, Nov. 09 (Saba)-Yemen is to host regional meeting on illiteracy in Arab countries in the mid of this month. Ten Arab delegations from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Bahrain, Syria, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Omanand Kuwait will take part in the meeting in addition to the Yemeni delegation. Mohammed al-Qadasi, Secretary General of the National Committee for Education Culture and Science said the meeting is being organized in cooperation with the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture. The meeting came within efforts of the governments to enhance participation of the civil society organizations in carrying our program of eradicating illiteracy."The meeting will discuss issues associated with modern means for training teachers in field of illiteracy eradication and involvement of private sector and the civil society organizations to carry programs of illiteracy eradication," he said. He said that the meeting would discuss role of the media means in importance of funding these programs.
