Yemen, KNOC discuss oil, gas exploration cooperation

Prime Minister Ali Mujawar discussed here on Wednesday with chairman of
the Korean National oil Corporation (KNOC) Kee Young-Won the ways to
expand the company's activities in the oil and gas exploration in Yemen
country. The KNOC's chairman said the company is currently
exploring for oil in 17 and 7o blocks, pointing out the daily
production of oil in the 4 Block will increase from 100 barrels to
20000 barrels. He appreciated the Yemeni government's efforts
to offer facilities to the KNOC Company for developing and expanding
its exploration activities. For his part, Mujawar praised the
efforts of the company to increase the oil production rate in the
coming year 2009 which would reach 20,000 barrels per day. The
Yemeni Prime Minister affirmed the government's readiness to offer all
facilitations and support to the company for improving the partnership
between the country and the company. He asked the Korean company to expand its activities of the oil and gas exploration in the maritime blocks of Yemen.
