UNDP grants $15 mln for Yemen's elections

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) granted Wednesday $15 million to support elections and referendum in Yemen.
The sum is dedicated to a project supporting the early presidential election scheduled to be held on February 21, 2012, the constitution referendum and parliamentary election. The project document signed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed al-Sa'adi, head of the Supreme Committee for Election and Referendum (SCER) Mohammed al-Hakimi and UNDP resident coordinator Jens Toyberg-Frandzen. Under the document, the UNDP presents $5 million for supporting the early presidential election and $10 million for enhancing the SCER's capacities and holding the constitution referendum and parliamentary election.
