EU follows up Gulf initiative implementation in Yemen: EU diplomat

The European Union is committed to follow up the implementation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-brokered initiative to end the ten month-long political crisis in Yemen.
The statement made by the EU delegation's head and ambassador Michele Cervone d'Urso during a press conference held in Aden governorate alongside British, German and French ambassadors, who are visiting the governorate.
D'Urso expected great changes to be occurred in Yemen in the coming months, saying the Gulf initiative's executive mechanism was carrying out within an inclusive political process all Yemenis participates in."The EU contacts with all relevant sides to urge them to take part in a national dialogue to find solutions to all issues, including the problems of the southern governorates," the EU diplomat said. The ambassadors' delegation has held several meetings with Aden local authority and some political powers, who believed they were not included in the Gulf initiative, d'Urso said, adding "the political transfer will be a long-term process to reach a civil state."
