GCC committed to helping Yemen restore security, stability

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states are committed to helping Yemen to restore security and stability nationwide, the GCC Secretary General said Saturday. Abdul-Latif Al Zayani, in press remarks at the conclusion of his short visit to Sana’a, welcomed the formation of the national conciliation government in a record time as well as setting a date for elections, February 21. Al Zayani also commended formation of a military committee.He said he met with Vice President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi and Prime Minister Mohammad Salem Basindwa, and conveyed greetings of the GCC leaders.
Al Zayani said discussions focused on how to defuse tension, reopening of roads, providing safe environment and carry out political and economic reforms.
Al Zayani wished best of luck for the Yemeni leaders and people.
