Vice President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi chaired Saturday the first meeting of the National Reconciliation Government in the Republican Palace in Sana'a. In the meeting, Hadi delivered a speech, saying that the government should now tackle the reasons and factors of the country's crisis. "Your first task is to create an appropriate atmosphere to realize the national reconciliation starting from here your Council of Ministers," the Vice President said. He urged them to forget their political disagreements and focus on major issues and tasks of the government, saying "You are members of the unified Yemen's government. You do not only represent your parties but also the millions of Yemenis." Hadi stressed that the first challenge faces the government was to remove the causes of political and security tension as stipulated in the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, adding that they have to cooperate completely with the military affaires committee in this regard. If the military committee carries out its missions as stipulated in the Gulf initiative and its mechanism, I expect the disappearance of all forms of armed manifestations, violence and trenching in the next few days, Hadi said, accenting that required the cooperation of all the parties signed the initiative.
We are demanded to take urgent action to ensure freedom of movement for all and to protect the Yemeni citizens, he said, asserting "You have to reinstate the state's prestige." In his speech, the Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa asserted the importance of the teamwork spirit that should prevail in the government's performance. "We're not two teams, but brothers whose key responsibility is to rescue the country from the economic and security collapse and to improve the situation of people living," the Prime Minister said. We have to spare no effort to rebuild the country and forget the past, he said. Moreover, the government continued its meeting discussing its priorities and the preparation of its general program to be submitted to the parliament during the next week. It emphasized to set up quick solutions to provide electricity and oil derivatives, eliminate armed manifestations and ensure the security and stability of the country, as well as providing the necessary care for the families of the martyrs and wounded people.
