President, VP briefed on measures to tackle landslide's aftermaths

President Ali Abdullah Saleh ordered Monday to provide all requisite assistance for the affected people in Daw'an district of Hadramout governorate due to landslide on Sunday. In a phone conversation with Hadramout governor Khaled al-Daini, President Saleh directed the governor to quickly take the necessary procedures to shelter the affected people, whose houses were damaged, and form a committee to assess the damage and submit a related report to the government to take required procedures. Al-Daini acquainted the President with the extent of the damage and the measures taken by the local authorities to alleviate the landside's aftermaths. For his part, Vice President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi made a phone call with Hadramout governor Khaled al-Daini, who briefed Hadi on the repercussions of the landslide in Daw'an district. The Vice President was acquainted with local authority's procedures to tackle the landslide's aftermaths, particularly sheltering the affected families and evacuating the nearby villages as a precautionary measure.Hadi valued highly the role played by the local authority, governmental and popular bodies in easing the affected families' suffering and in shelter them in alternative and safe houses. A landslide hit on Sunday "Menwah" village in Daw'an district due to heavy rainfall resulted in damaging 45 houses, of which 35 were completely destroyed.
