President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid a visit on Tuesday to Abyan
governorate where he laid foundation stones for 117 development and
service projects at more than YR 68 billion. President Saleh also opened the government complex in the governorate. The cost of the complex is YR 1 billion. Then, the president or the republican attended a ceremony held on the 41st anniversary of the Independence Day. In
the ceremony, president Saleh delivered a speech in which he
congratulated citizens of the governorate of Abyan on this occasion,
expressing his happiness to meet members of the local council and
officials of the executive offices as well as high profile fighters in
the governorate. He pointed out to the 117 development projects
that will be done in the governorate at a total cost of YR 68 billion
during 2009 and 2010. He also highlighted step of electing governors, saying it is a step toward of the local ruling. Local ruling is the ideal solution for all governorates, president said. Moreover, president Saleh reviewed achievements taken place in the country since reunification. "We
need for the national conciliation between all tribes and all to
concentrate on development and building what these districts have been
prevented in the past from." "Our strength centers in our unity,
security, stability and development." He said": no development without security and stability." President Saleh criticized some newspapers in Aden, Sana'a, Dhamar and Taiz, describing them as "yellow pages". Those papers are trying to promote for culture of failed forces and reluctance, he said. He renewed his call for dialogue, saying that the dialogue is civilized way to resolve any dispute. He concluded his speech by re –congratulating citizens of Abyan on these projects, wishing all the
