(UNDPA) holds workshop in Seiyoun today to examine the early warning system for rainfall, floods and reduce their risks in Wadi Hadhramaut.
(UNDPA) project to rebuild the early living today held workshop in Seiyoun to examine the early warning system for rainfall, floods and reduce their risks in Wadi Hadhramaut and Al-mahra provinces. The workshop was funded by the United Nations Development Programme and the Reconstruction Fund for Hadhramaut and Al-mahra provinces. The aim of the workshop is to study the system of early warning of rain and floods and reduce its risks in Wadi Hadhramaut. The workshop is being attended by 72 participants representing Hadhramaut Local Authority, reconstruction project for early living and the reconstruction fund working in areas affected in Wadi Hadhramaut and Al-Mahara provinces, academics and specialists in areas of agriculture, water, and those civil society organizations in districts of Hadhramaut who are interested in in the program. It will reviewe the idea of early warning system to be established in the province, the way it works, ideas, previous studies on the system of early warning in Wadi Hadhramaut region and explain the terms of reference to study the comprehensive system of early warning with a proposed budget. Also to estimate the cost for doing the study and ways to find funding sources, creating partnerships to fund the study, strengthening the relation othe real ones and share experiences with all parties related to the system of early warning.
