Heavy floods cost Mahrah over YR 13 bln

Initial outcomes of the damage count in Mahrah governorate have showed
that the Heavy floods caused damages reach YR 13,073,871,000 in several
sectors.
The damages report reviewed here on Monday during the
third meeting of the Relief and Emergency Sub-Committee in the
governorate, ranked that the damages in bridges as the first with about
YR 3.6 billion, then electricity sector with nearly YR 2.2 billion,
agriculture and irrigation with YR 1.7 billion and around YR 1.2
billion in the asphalt roads sector.
The damages also were
estimated with hundreds of millions in sectors of dirt roads (YR352
million), water and sanitation (YR254 million), fishery (YR212
million), education (YR192 million), health (YR107 million) and rural
waters (YR85 million).
Many other sectors in Mahrah
governorate were affected by the heavy floods such as technical
education, telecommunication, seaports, environment, general security,
houses, cars and other properties.
