UNICEF calls for Hadramout for international assistance, warns of environment pollution

Representative of the UNICEF in Yemen Abu Karim Adjibari called for an
international assistance for the reconstruction of the areas damaged in
Hadramout Valley that have been destroyed by torrents , warning against
dangerous environmental complications probable to spread amongst the
affected people.
The UNICEF representative described in a statement to almotamar.net
what the affected area was exposed to of over all destruction as
horrible catastrophe more than modern wars and cannot be imagined. He
said Yemen is in need of speedy international aid in parallel to the
volume of the disaster and to prevent the happening of rebounding
complications increasing possibilities of spread of environmental
pollution and spread of dangerous diseases among the affected.
The international official clarified that the UNICEF, through the field
teams of relief and in coordination with government and local parties,
targeted on Tuesday 400 families in al-Fawz camp in Tarim with personal
cleaning material and tools as well as health requirements and
enlightening preventative means from possible spreading diseases in the
shelter communities as a result of crowdedness and lack of services of
water and sewage.
