Yemen to partake in the 38th session meetings of AOAD in Riyadh

Yemen is to participate in the 38th session meetings of the executive council of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) which will be held on 21 May in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh.
Speaking to Saba, Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Mansour al-Hawshabi said the session will discuss a number of topics concerning the agricultural production and Arab and international food security and to encourage Arab agricultural investment projects. The session will also discuss developments in the agricultural development in the Arab World and technical report of AOAD of 2010, he added. It will also discuss trends of the strategy for Sustainable Arab Agricultural Development for the next two decades (2005-2025). The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) was established in 1970, upon the desire of the Arab countries. Realizing the vital role of agriculture within the region's economy, the Arab countries recognized the need for coordination between their different policies in agriculture, natural and human resources as well as economic development, in order to achieve the ultimate goal of a fully integrated Arab economies.
