Yemen has achieved a YR 9.7 billion trade surplus in the trade balance with Thailand in 2010 ,after it had realized a YR 190.2 billion surplus in 2009 for the benefit of Yemen.
Yemen's trade surplus with Thailand was negatively affected in 2010 due to the drop in the trade exchange between the two countries as a result of the decline in consumptive demand caused by the global economic crisis and its impact on the world trade.According to the Central Organization of Statistics (COS)'s data, the volume of trade exchange between Yemen and Thailand declined in 2010 reaching YR 91.8, compared with YR 273.3 billion in 2009.The data showed that the value of Yemen's exports to Thailand decreased in 2010 to YR 50.7 billion, compared with YR 231.7 billion in 2009, while the value of Yemen's imports from Thailand amounted to YR 41.5 billion, compared with YR 41.5 billion in the same period.
