Yemen: Trade volume with OIC's States raises by 18 % in 2010

Volume of trade exchange between Yemen and the Member States of Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) reached over YR 1.1 trillion in 2010.
This is an increase of about YR 180 billion in 2009, with growth rate of 18.4 percent, according to data issued by the Central Organization of Statistics (COS). The SOC's data showed that Yemen's exports to OIC's States amounted to YR 238.6 billion in 2010, compared with YR 150.7 billion in 2009, while the value of Yemen's imports from those countries reached YR 920.7 billion, compared with YR 794.7 billion during the same period.The United Arab Emirates topped the list of OIC's States in trade exchange with Yemen amounting to YR 444.3 billion in 2010, followed by Saudi Arabia with about YR 219.1 billion.According to the data, the trade balance between Yemen and OIC's States reached YR 682 billion in 2010 for the benefits of OIC's States, compared with YR 610.1 billion in 2009.
