Crowds of Yemeni citizens participated on Friday (Friday of Unity) in the massive rally in Al-Sabeen Square to confirmed their support for the constitutional legitimacy and democracy.
The participants condemned the events ,acts of sabotage and bloodshed that took place last Wednesday ,when protesters at the University of Sana'a moved toward a number of institutions and government facilities. They held leaders of the opposition joint meeting parties (JMPs) responsible for the escalation of the crisis and the incitement of some citizens and young people to break into the government's institutions and facilities , as well as the losses of the national economy due to this crisis. They warned of these acts which would push the homeland towards the ravages of conflict and strife, calling on the JMPs to not disrupt the dialogue and to put the higher national interest above all else and to sit at the table of dialogue to end the current political crisis. In the rally, the participants raised photos of President Ali Abdullah Saleh and chanted slogans denouncing the various calls that seek to drag the country into chaos ,violence and sedition. They lifted up signs that read "Yes to dialogue .. Yes to development, security and stability .. No to vandalism and chaos.. No to coups on the constitutional legitimacy".
