Yemen abides by Brussels Programme of Action for LDCs, says trade minister

Minister of Trade and Industry Hesham Sharaf emphasized on Thursday Yemen's commitment to the Brussels Programme of Action (POA) for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs). Speaking to Saba upon his arrival to the country, Sharaf said that Yemen's participated in the 4th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC-IV) in Turkey, Istanbul.On the sidelines of the conference, minister of Trade and Industry met with Serbian Foreign Minister and discussed with him the bilateral relations between the two countries, including what is concerned with trade and investment fields.During the meeting, the Serbian Foreign Minister affirmed his county's readiness to receive a number of Yemeni students in the scientific fields like medicine, engineering and telecommunications as well as the possibility of establishing technical cooperation in various areas which to be discussed in forthcoming meetings between the two countries' competent official.On the other hand, Sharaf discussed with the Hungarian Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi the current crisis in the country who voiced his country's solidarity with security, stability and unity of Yemen.During the meeting, the Hungarian official demanded Yemen's support in Hungary's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for 2012-2013.
