Yemen chairs the 23rd meeting of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria council to be held in Geneva during 11-12 May, Yemeni official said on Monday.
Minister of Public Health and Population Abdul Karim Rasa'a, who flew on Monday to Geneva, made clear that Yemen would represent the Eastern Mediterranean Region in the conference.Rasa'a said that the meeting would discuss the overall issues relating to priorities of grants offered for the eligible countries to support their activities and funding them. He pointed out that the Yemeni delegation also would chair the 64th World Health Assembly (WHA) of the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as the 20th session of the Executive Council to be held at the United Nations headquarter in Geneva during 16–25 May. The meeting will touch on all the current health issues in the Arab, regional and international levels including the non-communicable disease (NCDs) control beside other topics.
