That came in person of the Norwegian Minister of Foreign affairs Jonas Gahr Store during his meeting in Oslo on Wednesday with the Yemeni non-resident ambassador Dr Najeeb Ahmed Ubeid. The Norwegian minister emphasised the importance of dialogue between all the parties of political work in Yemen to come out of the present crisis. During the meeting ambassador Ubeid has reviewed the developments in the Yemeni arena and the efforts exerted for resolving the crisis peacefully, affirming keenness of the political leadership on the smooth and peaceful transfer of power. The meeting has also discussed bilateral relations and areas of cooperation between Yemen and Norway and means for enhancing them in all fields. Ambassador Ubeid also expressed Yemen’s hope to enlist it among the countries included in the Norwegian annual development support, pointing out that the move would support the Yemeni government efforts to absorb unemployment and alleviate poverty.The Yemeni non-resident ambassador to Norway has earlier discussed with Chairman of the External and Defence Affairs Committee at the Norwegian parliament areas of cooperation between the two friendly countries and mechanisms for consolidating bilateral cooperation between the Yemeni parliament and the Norwegian parliament. The Norwegian official emphasised the importance of Yemen stability, deeming that as significant pillar for stability of the region as a whole. She has stressed the importance that various parties should pursue dialogue for resolving the current Yemeni crisis, affirming Norway’s support for efforts of the GCC in this respect.
