Saleh meets women leaders of Youth Movement for Correcting Path

President Ali Abdullah met here on Thursday with a number of women leaders from the Youth Movement for Correcting Path who expressed the movement's position on many issues and developments concerned with the country and the process of reforms.
In his speech during the meeting, President Saleh said "Yemeni women have proved their awareness, their patriotism, their high morals and their fulfillment and jealousy on the country's security,stability and unity."President Saleh affirmed attention being paid to women and giving them wider opportunities to participate in the political and public life in the process of building the country.Woman is a mother, a sister, a wife and a daughter, Saleh said, expressing an inadequate and inferior view by some extreme political forces who deal with them as being commodity to be mobilized to vote in elections in order to benefit from her politically.Saleh said "we appreciate women and we look at them with great respect as well as we encourage them to get more opportunities to participate in the process of development," stressing he would take their observations into account.For their part, the women leaders condemned the blatant assaults carried out by elements of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) on Wednesday on youth protestors in AlThawrah city in which several people have been killed and more than 300 protestors injured among youth who support the constitutional legitimacy, stability and security of Yemen.They affirmed the need to speed up investigations into this heinous incident and refer the attackers to prosecution.
