President Ali Abdullah Saleh, head of the ruling General People Congress , on Monday evening chaired a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance Parties (NDCPs).
In the meeting, the participants reviewed the latest developments in the country in light of the current crisis caused by the Joint Meeting Parties. The NDCPs accused the JMPs of cutting off roads, preventing gas suppliers and fuel ships from having access from Marib to the rest of cities and carrying out frequent attacks on electricity pylons in Marib. In addition, they praised the security services’ efforts to maintain security and stability in the country and provide protection for pro and anti-government protesters. They also hailed the security forces for dealing with the provocations by members of the JMPs, which are trying to break into some government buildings, including some Republican Palaces and the headquarters of some provinces. They said that the JMPs seek deliberately to create conflicts and bloodshed aiming to media excitement against the authorities inside the country and abroad. The NDCPs praised all efforts and initiatives submitted by President Saleh to resolve the crisis through dialogue, avoid civil strife and bloodshed and maintain security, stability and unity of Yemen. They also expressed appreciation for the initiative provided by member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council in order to resolve the crisis in Yemen, stressing the national coalition’s keenness to deal positively with this gulf initiative
