Yemen participated on Monday in the opening meeting of the 54th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs kicked off on March 21 in Vienna, Austria.

The session, which will be convening for five days, will discuss topics relating to drug control, general policy of United Nations Office on Narcotic Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the implementation of the related international treaties as well as the action plan of an international cooperation to prepare a comprehensive strategy to encounter the global drug problem.In the opening meeting, the Second Secretary at Yemen's permanent mission in Vienna Marwan No'aman was elected as reporter for the session.
