Military source denies SG, central security's attack on protesters

A military source refuted on Sunday allegations that Special Guards (SP) and central security has attacked protesters in front of Sana'a University.
Such claims reiterated by the Suhail TV Channel, opposition party Islah's website aim to mislead the public opinion" the source said.A source at the Defense Ministry rebuffed on Saturday claims of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMPs) and some related media outlets that the armed forces, republican guards and special guards have participated in the clashes taken place on Saturday.The source said that the Saturday clashes were between the citizens and JMPs' thugs, who have provoked and assaulted the citizens and their houses and shops in some of the capital's streets, where sit-ins are being staged."The armed forces belong to the people and not owned to a party or a region. They are a symbol of the national unity and a safety valve for the democracy, the revolution and the unification" the source said.
