Yemen demands experts over tear gas used against protesters

Yemen demanded on Sunday the World Health Organization (WHO) to send experts to examine and investigate tear gas used to scatter protesters in Sana'a.
This came when Minister of Public Health and Population Abdul-Karim Rase'a met with WHO representative in Yemen Ghulam Rabbbani during which the Minster handed him a letter upon directives of President Ali Abdullah Saleh in this regard. The letter determined experts in forensic, toxins, neurology and tear gas bombs fields. On the other hand, Minister of Public Health and Population Abdul-Karim Rase'a discussed with the UN resident representative to Yemen Pratibha Mehta a report issued by the medical committee to examine bombs used to disperse the protesters.Rase'a affirmed the absence of any harmful substances in the tear gas bombs, adding they are used internationally to end riots. He handed her a copy of the report and a request to delegate experts to study the cases of the injured people, reviewing the ministry's support in the sit-in near Sana'a University.
