Yemen, JICA, WFP discuss cooperation in education, food areas

A Yemeni official has met separately with JICA and the World Food Programme (WFP) officials to discuss cooperation aspects in education and food program areas.
Minister of Education Abdul-Salam al-Jawfi and the JICA Resident Representative in Yemen Office Takeshi Komori reviewed the JICA-funded programs and activities in some provinces.The two officials also talked over the impact of these programs on the educational process, particularly their role in improving quality of educational program. From the other hand, al-Jawfi and the First Advisor of the WFP's projects discussed suitability of the program's contribution with the Ministry's plans and policies, especially in raising rate of enrollment in education and alleviating girls' drop out of schools in rural areas.Meanwhile, the Minister met the Department for International Development (DFID)'s head office Joanna Reid.The two sides' meeting focused on aspects of cooperation in education sector between the two friendly countries and means of developing them.The educational programs and activities funded by the UK government were also talked about in the meeting.
