The security forces in the southern
province of Mukala have found a hideout of a terrorist cell operating
at a suburb in the province. Weapons, female cosmetics, army uniforms and a car were found at the hideout. The position was discovered after the security forces arrested one of the cell members, a security source in the province said. Investigations
have been launched to know more about the cell and a hunt for other
members of the cell is being launched as well. The security
forces in Hadramout province have recently seized large quantities of
weapons at the house where a terrorist group affiliated with al-Qaeda
was raided in the area of Eded in the city of Tarim, provincial
authority sources said. The sources said these weapons included
forty bags of explosive gunpowder, TNT bombs as well as an equipped
workshop to prepare explosive-laden cars. The security forces
also found passports one of which is for Ahmed Saeed al-Mashjari who
carried out in the last month an attack against a police compound in
the province and the two others for two Saudis named as Badah Bin
Mughis Bin Badah al-Qahtani and Waleed Bin Radhi Bin Samilil al-Utaibi. Some diagrams to attack targets in the country and abroad were found at the house, the source noted. The
Tarim group, comprised of seven people five of whom have been killed
and two arrested after they were wounded, is believed to be behind all
the recent attacks against foreign and government interest in the
country. Two security soldiers were reported dead and other
three injured on Monday while chasing the cell members. The hunt
resulted in the killing of five terrorists and arrest of two possessing
many weapons and explosives. Hadhramout governor Salem
al-Khanbashi said to Saba that the incident occurred in Tarim city
while the security soldiers were performing their tasks of chasing a
wanted group of seven. The security bodies were chasing the
terrorist group whose individuals were hidden in one of houses from
which they exchanged fire with security bodies resulted to the death of
two solders and three injured.
