The Yemen Tourism Promotion Board, headed by the board chairman Minister of Tourism Nabil al-Faqih, approved on Monday the establishment of a Yemeni Tourism Development Company in partnership with the General Holding Corporation for Real Estate & Investment Development (Shibam) and the board. The establishment step comes within the implementation of the tourism development plan approved by the cabinet.The board stipulated the accomplishment of the academy of hospitality and hotel management in accordance with the economic feasibility study prepared by the Arab Tourism Organization with the participation of the board.It also states the establishment of a fund for supporting tourism handicraft products as well as allocating YR 10 million for handcrafters as loans, in addition to carrying out awareness campaigns to familiarize the public on the fund's objectives in order to attract the concerned organizations to fund it.The economic feasibility of the main roads' lounges and showing them as investment opportunities during the meeting of Arab Tourism Investment Forum scheduled to be held in Sana'a in the coming November were also approved.The board decisions also included the exemption of tourist agencies from participation fees in the international forums because of the bad conditions which facing tourism sector.In that regard, it also affirmed the importance of continuing the participation in the international forums and the global stock markets in order to enhance Yemen's presentation in such events.
