Yemen hails shifting IFAD's loans to gifts since 2009

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi hailed on Sunday the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)'s initiative to shift the developmental aids for Yemen from loans to gifts since 2009.
During his meeting with Director of IFAD's Near East and North Africa Division Nadim Khouri, the Minister affirmed that the Yemeni government appreciated this initiative and reflected the progressive development in the cooperation relations between Yemen and IFAD.
IFAD is an important partner in the development process in Yemen, al-Arhabi said, noting to Yemen's keenness to enhance the cooperation aspects between Yemen and IFAD now and in the near future.In return, IFAD's director affirmed the fund's keenness to present all the available and needed support for Yemen, praising the cooperation level between them.
Al-Arhabi and Khouri reviewed cooperation fields existing between Yemen and IFAD as well as means to enhance them in order to serve the two sides' common interests.
