held Saturday talks with the German Program Coordinator of the German Red Cross
on the possibility of expanding the program activities in the country.
The talks dealt with the possible inclusion of some
preventive activities to reduce the risk of epidemics of dangerous diseases
such as malaria in some districts in the Valley Hadramout within the components
of first aid to be implemented by the German Red Cross in Hadramout
during the two coming months.During the meeting, Mobarak
praised Germany's support
for the development process in Yemen,
particularly the exerted effort by GTZ to support the rural development in
Shibam city.He showed readiness of the
local authority in the Valley and the Desert to coordinate with the Education
Office in the valley for the success of the new project of the German Red
Cross.For her part, the German
coordinator reviewed results of Health Education Program carried out by the
German Red Cross in coordination with the Yemeni Red Crescent branch in Wadi
Hadramout.She clarified the project
includes training and qualification in the field of health education and
distribution of health materials to the trainees to implement awareness programs
to spread health awareness in the community.
