Symposium on child status in Hadhramaut

The Coordination Authority for the Yemeni non-governmental organizations for child rights organized today in Mukalla a symposium on the status of children in the province of Hadhramaut with a number of civil society and child supporting organizations.
At the opening ceremony of this session Mr Omeer Mubarak Omeer - Deputy of Hadhramaut province stressed on the need to broaden community participation and involvement in providing services and care for children and protect them from abuses and risks.
He pointed out that the local authority encourages all initiatives aimed at spreading awareness and education concerning child issues and caring for their health and upbringing,to make them fit into society.
He stressed that the national humanitarian and legal responsibility, requires everyone to pay more attention to children's issues,care and protection and not to subject them to violations or delinquency and allow them to continue their education and to provide adequate health care to them.
At the opening session attended by Mr Abdulhakeem Ben Gadeem - general manager of the general Book Authority in Hadhramaut governorate and Mr Hassan Mohammed Ka'esh Deputy Superintendent of the coordinating body of the Yemeni non-governmental organizations for children's rights care and a number of leaders of civil society organizations many speeches were delivered about the organizing body called for more cooperation and partnership to serve the issues of childhood and intensified efforts by civil society organizations and media organizations in Hadhramaut Governorate in guiding and adopting educational campaigns and build awareness of various issues of childhood and identify the government support and what laws, legislation and international conventions stipulate in providing child protection and welfare.
A number of working papers were provided for the symposium from Al-Aiman Society for the disabled and, the house for social guidance and teachers' syndicate, the juvenile prosecution and a number of cadres interested in issues of childhood.
