China sets up $ 10 mln hospital in Yemen

Yemen and China signed here on Tuesday an agreement to implement the project of the 22th May Public Hospital in Sana'a. Under the agreement, the $10 million project would be funded by the friendly government of China.The agreement was devoted to implement all construction work in the hospital, which consists of 6 floors with a capacity for 120 beds, including all necessary facilities in accordance with the latest international specifications and standards.It was signed by Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Hisham Sharaf and Chinese ambassador to Yemen Liu Denglin.Sharaf confirmed that the project is a model for the bilateral cooperation between Yemen and China, which witnesses big development in the various fields.He pointed to the importance of the vital project which would commence early in next May and last for two years, noting that the ministry would discuss with the Chinese side on equipping the hospital with all needed tools and supplies.Moreover, Sharaf pointed out that the hospital project comes among many projects to be implemented in the period 2010- 2011 by the Chinese side, which is a key partner to Yemen, including the National Library project at a cost of $ 30 million.This bilateral cooperation comes within the strong friendship relations between Yemen and China, Sharaf said.For his part, the Chinese ambassador considered signing of the agreement an actual start of the implementation process, stressing that the project is one of the signs of joint cooperation, which witnesses growing in different fields
