In 2009: 265 companies established in Yemen

The number of companies have been established in Yemen in 2009 has increased to 265 companies, compared with 238 companies in 2008, with a total capital of over YR 9 billion ($1=YR 215).
The established companies distributed in terms of legal form into 244 limited companies, 17 individuals companies and 4 joint stock companies.A report issued by the Companies Administration at the Ministry of Industry and Trade showed that the companies operating in the trade area , which were established last year, were ranked first with 106 companies, followed by service companies with 101 companies.According to the report obtained by Saba, 35 companies have been established in the construction sector in addition to setting up one company in the fisheries sector.In terms of legal form and volume of capital, the report pointed out that the new companies divided into 244 limited companies with a capital of YR7.7 billion and $5 million, 17 individuals companies with a capital of YR181 million , and 4 joint stock companies with YR 263 million.The report made it clear that the administration has completed during 2009 the procedures of amending regulations and establishment contracts of 82 companies, and renewal procedures of 60 companies in addition to liquidation of 3 limited companies.
