Seiyoun Agricultural Research Station General manager Dr. Abdullah Salem Alwan said, the station's efforts to increase the productivity and unit area of wheat, produced good results during the past two seasons.. The productivity reached 8 tons, or about 160 bags (50 kg package) per hectare for some farmers , calling it a promising indicator of high productivity of wheat, when what has been complied with is applied as a package technology . Alwan said: The adoption of new varieties of wheat may reduce the food deficit gap that is existing in the country, stressing on the need first to improve the production of this strategic crop and then expand the cultivated area. Pointing out that this can be done through the full implementation the package technology to increase productivity of wheat and this is sought by the Agricultural Research Station through education of farmers in this direction through the days of agricultural fields in which they are handling many matters relating to agricultural work and how to overcome it.
