Safe Motherhood Program of Soul organization started a campaign targeting 40,000 pregnant mothers in Sana'a city.
The director of the program Awsan Abu Aosboa told Saba that the program is carried out within a project of Sheba Queen for Safe Motherhood of Soul Organization in cooperation with the Hospital of Science and Technology, Saudi- German Hospital and World Bank.
She said that the program would target 40,000 pregnant mothers in Sana'a city by opening nine clinics in the nine districts of the city as the pregnant mother would receive free check up since its pregnancy until she gives birth and forty days of care after.The program would offer medicines free, she added.According to the official statistics, around 375 females out of 100,000 die in period of the pregnancy, which is considered one of highest rates in the world.Abu Aosboa said that the program would be extended to cover Sana'a province
