Progress in projects of historical city of Shibam assessed

An expanded meeting was held here in Hadramout province to evaluate the progress in implementation of the infrastructure projects of the historical city of Shibam.
The meeting, attended by senior local officials and representatives from the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), the Social Fund for Development and the General Authority for Preservation of Historical Cities, discussed the difficulties that are impeding the infrastructure projects implementation in the city, including projects of sewage, electricity, telephone and others.
Furthermore, a number of proposals to improve and speed up the work progress were discussed in the meeting.The city of Shibam is one of the most important historical cities. The local authority in Hadramout province and a number of organizations pay it big attention because of its ancient cultural heritage.
