Health Center services opens for people living with AIDS in Mukalla

National program to combat AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases today launched in Ibn Sina Central and Teaching Hospital a Center and health services for people living with AIDS and treatment for people living with HIV "AIDS".
The center, was funded in collaboration with WHO and support from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. It will to provide aspects of different treatment, prevention of post-injury added to that the services of voluntary counseling and free of charge testing unit.
Inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor of Hadramout Ahmed Junaid Al- Junaid, Under Secretary of Health and Population Dr. Jamilah Al-raebei, Regional Director for WHO Eastern Mediterranean Dr Hussein Al- Gezairy and director of the National Program to Fight AIDS, Dr. Abdul Hameed Alshebe. Speeches were given stresseing on the importance of establishing this center that will provide health care and treatment for people living with this disease.She pointed out that there is a need for community awareness about the diseas,modes of transmission, prevention, mitigation of the social stigma about it, living with and understanding ways dealing with them, keep them away from aggressive behavior through their integrating them into society, and thus reduce the spread of this disease
