Almahra fish production Declines to 24 thousand tons last year

Al-Mahra fish and marine life production declined in the year 2009 to 24,340 tons worth $ 4 billion and 201 million riyals, compared to 28,985 tons and worth$ 4 billion and 713 million riyals.
Al-mahra Director General of Fisheries Mr. Shamlan Saad Shamla told Yemen News Agency (SABA) that the total fish exports in 2009 is 14,823 tons, valued at five billion and 883 million riyals, compared to 12,399 tons worth $ 4 billion and 569 million riyals in the year 2008. He noted that, state revenues from sales of the traditional fishing last year reached 126 million riyals, compared to 132 million riyals in 2008.
