The Yemen Interior Ministry has beefed up precautious security procedures around foreign embassies and residential areas where foreigners stay. "Security protections for embassies are at a high standard of counteraction performance in case of any repulsive attempt," an official source told Saba who confirmed that the security personnel assuming the responsibility of protecting embassies are capable of carrying out their tasks to the fullest. The source further added that security men are on high alert to sort out different speculations and possibilities.The source recalled in a hint to the successful and courageous actions of the security people in foiling the December 17, 2008 anti-US embassy terror attack.It went on to say "the Ministry of Interior emphasizes that all embassies, diplomatic missions and foreign companies are fully secured and there is nothing to be worried about," asserting that "security is maintained and there is no fear for the life of any foreigner or any foreign embassy in the country."The source revealed that security apparatuses have imposed a cordon around al-Qaeda terror elements in the areas where it is expected to be the whereabouts they use and they are under surveillance around the clock.It announced they have apprehended 5 terror elements in Sana'a and Hudeidah governoate and the Capital City as well as killed 2 others in Arhab district of Sana'a.
