Political advisor to President Saleh, Abdul Karim al-Eryani, has said that putting an end to Yemen's economic hurdles and resuming dialog are the only way to end separation bids in the south and the rebellion in the far north.
Only the Yemeni people can help their state, he said, adding to Kuwaiti al-Nahar Daily that corruption will not be tackled through a stroke.Southern separation seekers never express the people's voice; however, they are movements seeking personal interests and the government should cope with them, he said. The dialog door has not been and never will be closed and there is no fear for the unity because the Yemeni people can't abandon it, he affirmed.Though reports that the U.S. aid to the country reached in 2009 $ 70 million, with U.S. officials cited as saying the aid is being doubled this year, al-Eryani said the U.S. aid to Yemen is slight, about $ 40 million.Abdul Karim al-Eryani is currently on a visit to the Arabian Gulf state of Kuwait taking part in the Islamic-Russian Dialog.
