The cabinet reviewed here on Tuesday a report on the progress in the field works being under implementation within the preparations for hosting the 20th Gulf Cup to be held in Aden ,Lahj and Abyan provinces by end of 2010.
The report submitted by Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs , Head of the Supreme Supervisory Committee on preparing for the 20th Gulf Cup, included construction and rehabilitation of stadiums and enhancing capacity of hotel accommodation services in Aden province as well as other arrangements relating to hosting this important sports event. In this respect, the cabinet valued the keenness of the political leadership to strengthen the success potentials for hosting the 20th Gulf Cup in Yemen, noting the supportive position of Gulf sport federations heads to Yemen to host this football championship.The cabinet hailed the efforts exerted by the committee and the local authority leaderships in the three provinces in following up implementation of the different projects associated with this event.Last Friday, Prime Minister Ali Mujawar re-confirmed Yemen's capacity to host the 20th Gulf Football Championship by end of next year in Aden city and Abyan province.He said that the government has allocated huge potentials to bring this event into success by building new stadiums, hotels and other facilities to host guests coming to attend and participate in this sport event.
