FM briefs foreign missions on newest successful acts against al-Qaeda

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abu Bakr al-Qirbi held a meeting on Monday with ambassadors of European, Asia and African countries, America and representative of UNDP to Yemen over recent successful operations against al-Qaeda network in the country.
Al-Qirbi said that the decision to launch these operations has been taken since long period, but was pended until a good time.The security units launched these operations after having a confirmed information that these terror cells of al-Qaeda had plotted to launch terror attacks against embassies and foreign schools, he added.He also reviewed efforts of the Yemeni government to fight terrorism and rebellion elements in Saada, saying that the government would respond to any demands by rebels, if they comply with five points and law as well as put their weapons aside.Al-Qirbi valued efforts of the international, government and non government organizations to offer assistance for displaced people in addition to humanitarian aid offered by friendly and brotherly countries to the displaced people and refugees At the ends of the past two weeks, counterterrorism forces carried out successful operations against al-Qaeda hideouts and training sites in the three provinces killing and arresting scores of terrorists in Abyan, Sana'a and Shabwa provinces.
