AES Arabia Ltd. (Riyadh-based Company) announced Sunday winning a contract to implement water treatment facilities for industrial wastewater used in pumping operations in favor of an oil project in Yemen
AES's Chairman Fawaz al-Maliki said in a press release: "This contract is the second contract awarded by the company in Yemen, after winning a contract last year for designing and manufacturing equipments in the project site " Al-Maliki pointed out that the new contract regards to oil projects in Wadi Kharir in Shabwa province, 600 km northeast of the capital Sana'a, with a total capacity of over 26,000 cubic meters of treated water per day.He considered the Yemeni market one of the most attractive markets during the coming phase, expecting to award more contacts in the Yemeni petroleum sector with stability achievement, while the Saudi companies would be more fortunate to get these contracts due to their experiences and high potentials.The support services projects in the petroleum sector have begun operating recently with signs of improvement in oil prices, both in the Saudi marker and the foreign market, al-Maliki indicated.
